THE ULTIMATE GUIDE FOR FLETCHING!
Fletching is the skill of making bows and arrows from
their raw materials. It combines aspects of Smithing, Crafting, and Woodcutting
and
once you're past the lower levels, Fletching is an easy way to earn money when
you can make Yew bows, Magic bows, or Rune arrows. You can get as much as 2,000
gold coins for each one of these items.
To fletch bows you need to have a
certain type of log depending on what kind of bow you want to make. You will
"use" (by right-clicking) your
hand ax
(hatchet) to cut the wood, and then use a knife on a log and select either Short
bow or Long bow. When you
have that, you need to string your bow. To string a bow you will need Flax and
must be at least Level 10 in Crafting. "Use" Flax on a spinning wheel to make
the string. Use the World Map
to find a spinning wheel location. Note: You get 10 Experience Points in
Crafting for making each string. "Use" the string on a bow to complete the
process.

| Fletching Tips --> -The best place to make bows is in The Seer’s Village. In The Seer’s Village there are all kinds of trees, nearby Flax plants, a couple of knife re-spawnings, a spinning wheel that is right next to a bed on the second floor of a house. -And if you're making arrows, The Seer's Village also has a bank (handy to store stuff in while you're working), and a smithy at which you can smith arrowheads. -The fastest way to get feathers is to buy them at a fishing store for 3-5 gold coins, depending on stock. |
To fletch arrows, you need to have arrow heads, feathers, and arrow shafts. Arrow heads can me made by smithing Bronze, Iron, Steel, Mithril, Adamantite, or Runeite bars into arrow heads. Note: you get 10 arrow heads per bar. See Guide to Smithing for any help. Feathers can be obtained from killing chickens or buying them from a fishing shop for 3-5 gold coins each, depending on stock. Arrow shafts are made by "using" regular logs with a knife and then clicking arrow shafts. Note: you get 10 arrow shafts for each log.
"Use" feathers on arrow shafts to make headless arrows. Then "use" arrow heads on headless arrows to make your arrows.
